Carissa Meyer, Md
Dr. Carissa Meyer is a board certified, fellowship trained surgeon who excels in the latest advances in both operative and non-operative treatment of upper extremity disorders. A recognized expert in her field, she has authored multiple articles on hand and wrist injuries.
Dr. Meyer completed her residency training at the University of Maryland Medical Center and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, one of the busiest trauma centers in the country.
She completed her fellowship in Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular Surgery at the renowned CV Starr Hand Surgery Center, the oldest hand fellowship in the country. She has also completed a separate sub-specialty fellowship in Pediatric Upper Extremity at the world-renowned Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas.
Because of the complexities involved, hand and wrist surgery requires a completely different surgical approach from a highly trained and specialized hand and wrist surgeon.
